So, what did Frendry Dona do?

According to Brigjen Eko Hadi Santoso, Director of Drug Crimes at Bareskrim, Frendry Dona is believed to be the mastermind behind a secret laboratory in East Jakarta. But this wasn’t just any lab. It was a clandestine lab producing vape cartridges filled with a dangerous substance called etomidate.

How a Ride-Hailing Driver Helped Expose the Case

Sometimes, heroes come from unexpected places.

On Monday night, April 13, a ride-hailing driver (like Gojek or Grab) in Jakarta grew suspicious of a package he was asked to deliver. Something just didn’t feel right.

Instead of ignoring his gut feeling, he went straight to Bareskrim Polri — the police headquarters.

Officers scanned the package using an X-ray machine. And guess what?

The scan revealed illegal drugs.

Inside the package, police found:

  • 13 black vape cartridges with a “Mafia” logo, containing liquid etomidate

  • 1 clear plastic bag containing methamphetamine (sabu)

That one suspicious driver changed everything.

The Undercover Operation That Led to Arrests

Police didn’t waste any time.

A special team was formed, led by:

  • Kombes Handik Zusen

  • Kombes Kevin Leleury

They decided to play smart. Officers disguised themselves as ride-hailing drivers and continued the delivery as if nothing had happened.

The fake delivery driver was instructed to bring the package to Danau Cavalio in Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta.

When they arrived, someone said a “family member” would pick up the goods. That person turned out to be another driver, initials R, who was then asked to deliver the package to a hotel in Matraman, East Jakarta.

But the chain didn’t stop there.

Another person, initials PP, showed up to take the package. He was acting on orders from a suspect named Ananda Wiratama. Police followed the trail and finally arrested Ananda at a rented house in East Jakarta.

And here’s the key confession:

Ananda admitted he had made 37 deliveries — all ordered by Frendry Dona.

Yes, Frendry Dona was the one pulling the strings.

What Police Found Inside the Hidden Lab

When police searched the rented house in East Jakarta, they didn’t just find a few cartridges.

Here’s the full list of evidence:

  • 163.03 grams of methamphetamine (sabu)

  • 60.44 grams of marijuana (ganja)

  • 21 cartridges containing etomidate

That’s a lot of dangerous substances hidden inside what looked like an ordinary home.

The Apartment Raid: More Evidence, But the Boss Was Gone

Ananda told police that the drugs came from a drug dealer — and that dealer was Frendry Dona himself.

Police learned that Frendry Dona was hiding in an apartment in Pulogadung, East Jakarta.

But when the team arrived at the apartment?
🚪 Empty. The door was open, but Frendry Dona was nowhere to be found.

Only a witness with the initials SM was there.

Still, police secured the location and found even more evidence:

  • 0.7 grams of methamphetamine

  • 25 empty cartridges – brand “Mafia”

  • 34 empty cartridges – brand “Stone Island”

  • 3 empty cartridges – no brand

  • 2 pressing machines

  • 1 digital scale

  • 117 vape packages – brand “Mafia”

  • 88 vape packages – brand “Yakuza”

  • 19 vape packages – brand “Three”

  • 1 vape package – brand “Supreme”

  • And several other vapes from various brands

This wasn’t just a small operation. This was organized.

How Much Were the Drugs Worth?

Drugs destroy lives, but they also cost a lot of money.

Brigjen Eko Hadi Santoso revealed that the total estimated value of all the drugs seized in this case is:

💰 Rp410,781,120 (Indonesian Rupiah)

That’s roughly around $26,500 USD — a massive amount for illegal vape cartridges and hard drugs.

What Happens Next?

Right now, Frendry Dona is still on the run.

Police have issued an official DPO notice (Number: DPO/57/IV/2026/Dittipidnarkoba) dated April 16, 2026. They are actively hunting him down.
